Description
Koi
Koi (or more specifically nishikigoi, literally "brocaded carp"), are ornamental varieties of domesticated common carp (Cyprinus carpio) that are kept for decorative purposes in outdoor koi ponds or water gardens. In Japanese, koi is a homophone for another word that means "affection" or "love"; koi are therefore symbols of love and friendship in Japan. The koi is also an often recurring symbol in Irezumi, the Japanese art of traditional tattooing.
Koi varieties are distinguished by coloration, patterning, and scalation. Some of the major colors are white, black, red, yellow, blue, and cream. The most popular category of koi is the Gosanke, which is made up of the Kohaku, Taisho Sanshoku, and Showa Sanshoku varieties.

I like this piece so much for its hypnotic colors and texture, that I had to feature it! Congratulations v/

Thank you again for the feature, Nicla... You were the first to feature any of my works and I've always appreciated that. I value your compliment!

Very intriguing processing on this image - love the somewhat tiger like and abstract feel of these Koi. v
